The City

Many people say that Pescara is a sort of "Italian Miami": bright, sunny, lively and dynamic, full of resources and energy, a place of passage in the middle of Italy where many different cultures meet.

The massive rise in employment of the central areas as a result of post-war reconstruction led the city to expand towards the periphery. The building of the industrial areas between Pescara and Chieti, the motorway links and the railway backbone, the establishment of some Faculties of the D'Annunzio University, the opening of new regional and state offices, the new railway station Stazione Centrale and the tourist port further modified the overall structure of the city and prepared Pescara to the challenges of the third millennium.
